Minutes of General meeting held on 5 November 2022 at Newlynn friend ship club hall, 3063 New North Road, New Lynn, Auckland.
The meeting started at 10.15 a.m. after serving tea and coffee. Bharatbhai Parikh explained the safety rules to all members attending the meeting. He welcomed all the members and guests present at the meeting.
The scheduled entertainment program started with the prayer which was performed by Bhartiben Patel and her group. Everyone at the meeting observed 2 minutes silence respect of our past member Nayanaben Patel who passed in India. ( Daughter of our senior member Jaswantiben Patel). We pray to God to bless her soul to rest in peace.
We also observed 2 minutes silence in respect of victims of Morbi bridge tragedy who lost their lives in unfortunate accident in Gujarat state.
The certificates issued by Radio Tarana for our members for participating in garba dance at the Diwali mela were distributed at the meeting. The antakshari competition was arranged for an hour. The game was divided in three groups. We appointed three judges to select the winner of the competition. There were certain rules stipulated to ensure that the singing competition is played in an orderly manner. This is the first time this type of competition has been held at our general meeting. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all the members.
The second half of the scheduled program started with Bharatbhai K Parikh speech. He outlined all current activities and sought the members cooperation to help with the various activities. This is followed by President Shri Kiritbhai Thaker’s speech. He gave all the information on current and planned activities to the members. He also announced the good news of a major grant of $33000/- received from the lottery commission.
Kiritbhai Thaker and Dharmendrabhai Mehta updated the activities and progress made by the youth wing. Youth members were present in our meeting , they were welcomed and appreciated their efforts in fund raising.
Tulsibhai Patel provided the information for the upcoming picnic on 12 November 2023.
The birthdays of our members in November were announced by the secretary. The birthday song was performed by Jasubhai Patel. Birthday wish certificates were issued to all members who were born in the month of November.
Parbhubhai Desai chanted the bhojan mantra before lunch is served to all members. The meeting was enjoyed by all. The members left the hall by 3.30 p.m.
