AGENDA OF THE MEETING
Agenda of the meeting was as under:
1) prayer with birthday wishes.
2) To announce the names of two co-opted members replacing shri Kiritbahi Parikh-Treasurer who had resigned on 28/3/2025 and also to fill in vacancy of Late shri Narharibhai Patel which was long awaited.
3) To celebrate Chaitri Navratri by way of performing traditional Garba followed by Aarti and Prasad.
1.Meeting was started at 10.00am. Tea and Biscuits were provided from 9.30am.
2.Bharatbhai wish good health those who were sick during last month and also pay tribute to the deceased family members of the members.
3. Shri Navinbhai & Smt. Anjanaben Tailor perform their couple dance @their marriage anniversary for 2 minutes.
4.After prayer and birthday wishes, The president started with informing the decision of EC regarding co-opting the two members namely, Shri Rajeshbhai Dalal co-opted as Treasurer replacing Shri Kiritbhai Parikh on his resignation and shri Pankaj Parikh to take his services for kitchen activities, replacing services of Late shri Narharibhai Patel on his sudden untimely death.
The above appointments were done during the executive committee held on 28th March 2025, following the guidelines as stipulated in our constitution at clause.no. 6.5 which is as uner:
Clause 6.5:
“The Executive committee may fill any vacancy arising from vacation, resignation, death, expulsion or otherwise for unexpired term. Unless the Executive Committee decides to act and continue with its function or operation in the absence of any member or official.”
This clause reserves rights/powers to the executive committee and following these two members were selected unanimously in the meeting out of 7/8 names proposed by EC members during the meeting. There was no breach of rules and terms of the constitution. The resolution was also passed making it on record.
To a great surprise on above announcement, the immediate past president with his small group of family and friends objected to the co-option and insisted for a by-election by criticising the working of present committee using un-parliamentary language for almost more than 45 minutes. The founder member and past president also supported his views which were further given hands by couple of members, saying that the co-option is not legal and has to be appointed by way of election only. This was the saddest incidence happened during this meeting and appeared to be politically motivated.
The president wanted to explain details of discussions held amongst the EC members in the EC meeting and how after deliberations the two members were co-opted but they were not prepared to listen to such explanation and kept on insisting for by-election only.
The members present in this general meeting were disappointed and got disturbed with this incidence and condemned the act.
Most of the time for Chaitri Navratri Garba was lapsed hence Secretary had no option to stop this discussion but to announce the bi-election moving out of the constitutional guidelines, unwillingly.
Whatever time left (Appx.15 minutes) Smt. Bhartiben and group performed a stage Garba dance and then hardly only 1 garba was performed by members on the floor. Meanwhile members rush for the lunch.
The meeting was adjourned after the lunch.
All members left hall around 1.30 pm
Cleaner has cleaned the utensils and make hall clean then committee members and volunteers left the hall at 2.00 pm after locking the hall.
